What is KYC? Why it is required?

KYC stands for Know Your Customer. Thus, all the identity card or document which is issued by government bodies and Aadhar card, etc. are called as KYC documents. For investing in a mutual fund, the individual must provide the document regarding financial status, occupation and other demographic information to become KYC compliant and start investing in a mutual fund.

Is My KYC data being safe with Gulaq. Is it shared with any third parties?

Yeah, your data is completely safe with Gulaq. We only share the data with the AMC house.

What is the document or process requirement for KYC?

These are the following documents required to fulfil your KYC document.

  • Pan card
  • Passport, Driving license, Aadhar card (for address verification)
  • IPV (in person verification).

I am already investing in Mutual funds. Do I need to do KYC verification again?

If all the documents are available, then there is no need for any KYC again. In case, if there is any detail missing then you will certainly need to submit those documents.

Despite I have submitted all the documents, my KYC verification is pending. What should I do?

If the documents are pending for more than 72 hours, then please contact our customer care.

I am an NRI. Can I invest through Gulaq?

Currently, we don’t allow NRI to invest through Gulaq.

My Pan Number is shown as valid or Fake.

In case, if you don’t have a valid Pan card as per the government records then please try to enter a valid PAN card number.

I have submitted my PAN, but my verification is still pending.

Why is In Person verification required?

As per the SEBI guidelines, it’s mandatory to complete in person verification for mutual fund investment. One can complete the verification process by capturing 5 seconds video of one-self.

What one needs to do in a 5 seconds video of In-person verification?

You have to say your name as per Pan Card in the video. Please ensure to take a clear video.

why is my signature required?

To open your account digitally, we need to process your signature.

I am not able to reproduce my signature on the screen.

In case, if you are not able to reproduce your signature on the phone screen, then it’s better to sign a signature on a blank white paper and later upload a photo of your signature.

I am not able to upload my signature photograph.

You need to check whether you have a proper internet connection, or the file is not in a valid format.
